We are an Edmonton-based raw chocolate company dedicated to offering decadent treats that are truly guilt-free. We believe that chocolate is health food, not junk food--after all, cacao is super healthy fresh off the tree! Unfortunately, commercial chocolate is usually full of refined sugar and often has other unhealthy additives too. We recognized the need for a healthy alternative that is delicious enough to win over even the most refined of chocolate palates. That is why we decided to bring the market a raw chocolate line that doesn’t compromise on taste, but also doesn’t compromise on health. Our chocolate is true to nature, still full of antioxidants, minerals, and other nutrients in their natural unrefined states. We never use dairy, GMOs, refined sugar, or gluten in our chocolates. All of our products are vegan and made with 100% organic, fair-trade, shade-grown raw cacao. We only pair our chocolate with the most delicious and nutritious of ingredients, including only unrefined raw clear agave nectar as our sweetener to ensure that our low-glycemic chocolates are diabetic-friendly. We do use nuts to replace dairy, so our products are definitely not nut allergen free; however, we do our best to cater to every other major dietary restriction, including gluten-free, low-glycemic, non-GMO, organic, fair-trade, vegan, and raw food lifestyles. We are currently pursuing our organic and fair-trade certification, and our ingredients are already organic and fair-trade sourced.

Jessica gives an impromptu interview to Shaw TV explaining our Chocolate Ambrosia and introducing our new body care line.

Why "Ambrosia"?

Our chocolate ambrosia is a fluffy, syrupy, moussey, drizzley chocolatey stuff that we sell in jars. Customers often ask us about the name: "What is ambrosia?". . . Well, our chocolatey stuff is very hard to describe because of it's different textures at different temperatures and the diverse ways that it can be used. Originally, we wanted to call it a 'syrup' because it makes a fantastic hot chocolate, but the texture in the jar is more like an icing than a syrup, and it makes a great chocolate spread too! We soon realized that this divine chocolatey something could be used in as many ways as your imagination can dream up: food, drink, or otherwise! So, in the end we named it after the sometimes-food-sometimes-drink of the Olympian gods in Greek mythology, which was called 'ambrosia', suggested by the fact that theobroma, the Latin name of the chocolate genus, translates as 'food of the gods'. There you have it! Really, "Chocolate Ambrosia" just means 'chocolate of infinitely divine possibilities'. Simple, right? ;)

PS. That is Mount Olympus in the picture, for those of you wondering how it fits into this post!
